After you get the electric switched over with comed and into your name, and after you get your first bill, I recommend checking with https://www.chooseenergy.com/puc/plug-in-illinois/ to see if you can get a lower rate. Some of the providers (I use Mc2) have much lower rates for electric and you can lock in for a year of more (mc2 does not usually charge if you break the contract with them.. make sure you check this as some providers do charge a hefty penalty) . You still will receive your bill and your power from comed, it is just how it is billed and allocated and does not really impact anything other than the rate you are charged.
